Beyond Possible
01 600 FtWELCOME TO THE DEATH ZONE. Fourteen mountains on Earth tower over 8,000 metres above sea level, an altitude where the brain and body withers and dies. Until recently, the world record for climbing them all stood at nearly eight years. So I announced I was summiting them in under seven months. People laughed. They told me I was crazy, even though I’d sharpened my climbing skills on the brutal Himalayan peaks of Everest and Dhaulagiri. But I possessed more than enough belief, strength and resilience to nail the job, having taken down enemy gunmen and terrorist bomb makers while serving with the Gurkhas and the UK Special Forces. Throughout 2019, I came alive in the death zone. Soon after, I was showing the world a new truth: that with bravery and enough heart and drive, the impossible was possible… I looked to the peak. Clouds had swept in, an ominous rumble of thunder was echoing through the valley below, and as I watched, it felt hard not to be awed by the size and scale of what lay ahead. I knew that judging the giant peak’s strengths and weaknesses was pointless because the giant peak ahead wasn’t going to judge me. Instead, there was a rush of inspiration. If I could channel the mountain’s spirit, becoming bulletproof to pain, stress, and fear, then nothing could stop me. Then I asked the question. Can I? Or can I not?

Objectivism: The Philosophy of Ayn Rand
02 000 FtThis brilliantly conceived and organized book is based on a lecture course given by Dr. Leonard Peikoff in 1976, entitled „The Philosophy of Objectivism.” The lectures were attended by Ayn Rand, who helped prepare them and also joined Peikoff in answering questions. Ayn Rand said of these lectures: „Until or unless I write a comprehensive treatise on my philosophy, Dr. Peikoff’s course is the only authorized presentation of the entire theoretical structure of Objectivism–that is, the only one that I know of my own knowledge to be fully accurate.” Dr. Peikoff, Rand’s designated heir and foremost interpreter, reveals the abstract fundamentals of Objectivism and its practical applications in the everyday world. He covers every branch of philosophy recognized by Rand and every philosophic topic she regarded as important–from certainty to money, from logic to art, from measurement to sex. Illustrated with quotes from her published works, complete with an abundance of new material that Ayn Rand offered only in private conversations with Peikoff, these clear, cogent chapters illuminate Objectivism–and its creator–with startling clarity. Now the millions of readers who have been transformed by Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead will discover the full philosophical system underlying Ayn Rand’s stories about life „as it might be and ought to be.”

On Yellow Evenings
01 600 FtAward-winning and timeless, the poems of Jordi Larios are magnets, engaging us with the infixed force that they’re reading unleashes, subtle yet powerful in their imagery. Larios blends into the mix an uncanny marshalling of words, reassigning them to posts of optimal meaning and musicality. Technique underlies the poems, but the resulting art goes well beyond technical savvy, lifting language above ‘the clattering of / too many words,’ which bereft of poetry, only render us alone.

Rohanó oázis
0600 FtANDRÁS SÁNDOR 1934-ben született Budapesten. A szegedi egyetemen magyar szakos tanári diplomát, Oxfordban – a romantikus német irodalomról írt disszertációjával – B. Litt. tudományos fokozatot, utána pedig, Kaliforniában, doktorátust szerzett.
Szerkesztő-módszere, szűkszavúsága a haikut idézi.
1967-ben jelent meg Heinrich Heine költészetével foglalkozó könyve, The Exile of Gods címmel.
Verseivel most jelentkezik először önálló kötetben. -

02 000 FtThe Divine Conspiracy has revolutionized how we think about the true meaning of Christian discipleship. In this classic work of spiritual formation, one of the most brilliant Christian thinkers of our times and author of the acclaimed The Spirit of Disciplines, Dallas Willard, skillfully weaves together biblical teaching, popular culture, science, scholarship, and spiritual practice, revealing what it means to „apprentice” ourselves to Jesus.
